Overview
This project involved designing a smart city infrastructure management system capable of real-time monitoring and control of urban systems such as traffic, utilities, and public safety. The system leveraged cloud-native architecture for scalability and real-time IoT data ingestion.
Development Strategy
We designed a cloud-native system that could ingest data from multiple IoT sensors and provide real-time insights into city operations. Using AWS and Kubernetes, the system was built for reliability and scalability, handling vast amounts of data with minimal latency.
Key features included:
IoT Data Ingestion: The system processed large-scale IoT data streams using MQTT and Apache Kafka.
Real-Time Alerts: Configured for emergency response scenarios, the system sent real-time alerts to city authorities based on pre-set thresholds for public safety.
Technologies Used
AWS and Google Cloud for cloud infrastructure.
Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Outcomes
The project successfully optimized city resource management and enhanced response times for public safety incidents, making the infrastructure more efficient and sustainable.
